Dr. Mohamed Nawfal Ghazzal studied Inorganic Chemistry at the Université Claude Bernard, Lyon, France. He received his PhD in 2008 from the Université Paul Verlaine, Metz, France. He moved to Belgium, as postdoctoral fellow at the Université Catholique de Louvain, then as a researcher at Université de Namur and Université de Mons. In France, he obtained a permanent position of Associate Professor at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Université Paris-Saclay.
We mainly focus our research in developing photocatalysts with improved activity for H2 generation or CO2 conversion. Our strategies aim in synthetizing new carbon based material or developing new bio-inspired architecture for improved charge carriers lifetime and light harvesting capability. The main goal is to bring fundamental understanding and establish a relationship between material chemistry, physical chemistry, and chemical reactions.
