Research

The research activity of the group is divided into three main topics:

  • Carbon photonics: in this part, the group investigate the optical properties of carbon nanotubes, graphene nanoribbons and graphene quantum dots. These experiments are performed both on ensemble and single nanoobjects.
  • Hybrid Organic Perovskites (HOP): in this part the group develops the synthesis of new HOPs, investigates their intrinsic properties, and works on the laser effect in cavities containing these HOPs.
  • Nanoparticles levitation in vaccum: using optical tweezers, we levitate nanoparticles in vacuum. This allows to enforce a unique control on the particle with toward two major goals, the investigation of quantum effects at the macroscale and the study of the thermodynamics of the nanoworld (i.e. the stochastic thermodynamics).
