JDSE 2023

WelcomE!

The Junior Conference on Data Science and Engineering (JDSE) is an event that targets first-year doctoral students, M2 students, and third-year students from engineering schools at Université Paris-Saclay and Institut Polytechnique de Paris. The conference offers the opportunity for students to present their scientific work, which they have undertaken during their first year of thesis or internship. The conference features renowned speakers from academia and industry, who provide valuable feedback to the students and help them develop their critical thinking skills.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to

  • Data Mining
  • Databases
  • Big Data Analytics
  • Machine Learning and Deep Learning
  • Applied Machine Learning (NLP, Computer Vision, Audio Processing, Bioinformatics…)
  • Statistics
  • Semantic Web
  • Applications of Data Science (Biomedical and Biological Data, Physics, Chemistry, Smart Cities, Image, Documents, Audio, Video, Online Advertisement…)

Important dates

All deadlines are 23:59 anywhere on earth (UTC-12)

  • Submission deadline: August 27

Paper Submission and Template

We cordially invite first-year Ph.D. students, M2 students, and final-year students from the engineering schools of Université Paris-Saclay and Institut Polytechnique de Paris to submit an extended abstract of up to 3 pages, presenting their new or preliminary works. We strongly encourage master students to participate, even if their results are only in the preliminary stages at the time of submission. This is an excellent opportunity to receive constructive feedback from peers and experts in the field, and to showcase your research to a broader audience. We look forward to receiving your submissions and having your contributions presented at the conference.

To be considered for the conference, all submissions must be in English and in PDF format. The extended abstracts should include an abstract, a list of keywords, and references. The latex template can be download here and the submission site is here.

The extended abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific program committee, including a junior PC member, either a Ph.D. student or a postdoc in Data Science. Electronic copies of the accepted extended abstracts will be available for download on the conference website.
